Lerlo is made by Nullbase ApS. We are developers who have seen how many of a teacher's hours go on keeping track of things a system ought to keep track of – and how little of what exists is built for how a Danish school actually works.
Why Lerlo
A seating plan is made in Word. The rules about who mustn't sit together live in the class teacher's head. The quiz runs in an American app where the pupils have to create an account. The pupil list is an Excel file from last year, and in August everything has to be redone. Each part is small. Together it is half a working day a week.
We wanted to build what is missing between the big systems – the timetable, the learning platform, the messaging – and the teacher's desk. One tool that knows classes per school year, teams and electives, class teachers and subject teachers, and that handles the change of school year, because that is the one day a year when everything else breaks.
What we promise
- We build for Danish schools. The Danish folkeskole and the free schools, grade 0 (børnehaveklasse) to grade 10, teams and electives, the Danish school year. Danish first; other languages can be added.
- We take children's data seriously – not as a clause in an agreement, but in the way the system is built. Every new feature starts with the question: which personal data does it touch, who sees it, and how is it deleted.
- We write what is true. Everything on these pages describes the system as it is. When we promise something that is on the way, we call it on the way.
- We answer ourselves. If you write to us, the person who built it replies. There is no support queue and no chatbot.
- Your data is yours. Download it whenever you like. If you stop, we delete.
How we work
Together with teachers
Features take shape in conversations with the people who will use them. A seating plan looks the way a teacher draws it on a piece of paper – not like a database.
Secure by default
Encryption, roles, the log and deletion are not optional modules. They are there for everyone, from the first school.
A little at a time, all the time
Lerlo is updated continuously, without you having to do anything. Open tabs fetch the new version by themselves. No big upheavals, no "version 2".
