What a school needs. Nothing more.

Lerlo is not a learning platform, a timetable or a messaging system. It is the teacher's own tools – the things that otherwise live in your head, in Excel and on the back of an envelope.

Seating plans

A seating plan that knows who mustn't sit together.

The room is drawn with desks, board and teacher's desk, in centimetres. Desks snap to each other, so the rows come out straight. Pupils are dragged into place – with a mouse, a finger or a pen.

  • Placement rules per class: not next to, together with, at the front, at the back, near the teacher, alone at a desk. They apply to all of the class's plans.
  • Place automatically: Lerlo tries thousands of combinations and finds the one that breaks the fewest rules. If you want to keep those already seated, you say so.
  • Several plans per class: one is the current one. Earlier plans are kept, and a lesson shows the plan that applied that day.
  • Seen from the teacher's desk or from the pupils' side – and printed, or as PDF/PNG in Lerlo's layout with logo, class and date.
  • The class teacher and the administrators make changes. The class's other teachers see the current plan.
Activities in class

Everything that runs live on the board and on the pupils' phones.

An activity is started from a lesson. The board shows the code and a QR code; the pupils pick their name from the class and take part. No apps, no accounts, no emails to children.

  • Quizzes with questions, statements (true/false), a time per question, points for quick right answers, the standings along the way and a podium with confetti.
  • Word clouds, where each child answers once and the same words grow on the board. Anonymous for the class – only the teacher sees who wrote what.
  • On the way: exit tickets, quick polls, group makers, bingo and new question types. Every activity shares the same way in.
  • The teacher's own material lives under Mit materiale (the teacher's own material). What is put on a lesson is copied, so the lesson keeps what was used.
Classes and pupils

Organised the way a Danish school is organised.

A pupil has one class per school year and can also be on teams, in special classes and in electives. The school defines what it offers under Subjects; the classes use it.

  • The front page shows the teacher's own classes with the class photo and "you are class teacher · Danish". Information shows all of the school's classes and teachers to everyone on the staff.
  • The pupil's page for the teacher: results in the teacher's own subjects and the teacher's own notes, with date and time.
  • The pupil's page for the administrator: classes through the years, picture, when and why the pupil left, all notes.
  • Import from a file: a CSV from the pupil administration system, or Excel, is read in the browser. A CPR number (the Danish civil registration number) is used only to find the date of birth and is never sent.
Teaching

Lessons and projects in a calendar that belongs to the class.

Click an hour or drag across the week, and the lesson is created. The notes are written on the lesson's page; the seating plan that applied that day stands beside them.

Week, month, list, table

Lessons with a start and an end, whole days, and projects over a period. Subjects are chosen from those you teach in the class – and a colleague's subject on a cross-curricular lesson stays put.

Notes with pictures and files

Headings, lists, checklists, tables and pictures. Files from Mit materiale are put on the lesson; if you change the file later, the lesson follows – or keeps its own copy.

Activities from the lesson

Everything used in the lesson is listed under it: every time a quiz was played, every word cloud, every file. The results belong to the lesson, and so to the subject.

School years

The change of school year is a button. Not a weekend.

Every class belongs to a school year. When the year ends, the administrator prepares the next one as a draft: Lerlo proposes what each class becomes and which pupils finish.

  • 5.A becomes 6.A. 9.A finishes. A new 0.A is created. Teams and special classes continue under the same name; electives move up with their grades.
  • Classes can be merged or split. Every pupil can be corrected: repeat a year, skip one, move to another school.
  • The change first shows what will happen and what is blocking it. It happens when you press the button – and only once.
  • Teaching already planned for August moves with the class into the new one. Everything else stays in the old year.
  • Results follow the pupil: the new maths teacher sees last year's maths – not Danish.
Data protection

The school decides. Lerlo makes it possible to follow through.

The administrator has a page of their own for what GDPR asks of a school: retention, data exports, the data processing agreement and an overview of the security.

  • Retention: pupils who left are deleted automatically after the period the school chooses – with results, answers, seats, picture and notes.
  • Data exports: everything about a pupil, a class, a member of staff or the whole school as a ZIP – machine-readable and readable, with or without the files. Every export is logged.
  • The log: every change to the school's data with who, when and what – kept for two years.
  • Two-factor for all staff, with an app or a key. The administrator can help a colleague who has lost theirs.
